Youth Confirmation
The St. Therese Youth Confirmation Program is a two-year (per Archdiocesan requirements) religious education program to prepare high school students (normally, Ninth- and Tenth-Graders) to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Normally, students begin in the Fall of their Freshman year of High School, and receive the Sacrament in the Spring of their Sophomore year.
For the 2023-2024 school year, the first class will be on Wednesday, September 13, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. (Classes are held in the St. Therese School classrooms: Year One is in Room 7; Year Two is in Room 8).

Our Classes challenge these young people to be witnesses to Christ and His Church. The program also encourages full participation in the Sacraments through catechesis based on the "Catechism of the Catholic Church." Parents and Sponsors are encouraged to attend Sunday Mass each week. It is mandatory for Sponsors to attend the classes with their candidates.
For more information, please contact the coordinator, Florence Goh, at the office at (626) 282-2744, ext. 224.
WHAT IS CONFIRMATION:
Confirmation is a Sacrament in which, through the imposition of the Bishop's hands, unction and prayer, baptized persons receive the Holy Spirit, that they may steadfastly profess their faith and lead upright lives. The Sacrament is called Confirmation, because it confirms or strengthens the soul by Divine Grace. Sometimes it is called the laying on of hands, because the Bishop imposes his hands on those whom he confirms. It is also known by the name of Chrism, because the forehead of the person confirmed is anointed with chrism in the form of a cross.
